AI. You can only avoid it for so long.

If you’re like me, your plan was to fight artificial intelligence (AI) as long as you could.  You planned to be one of the last hold-outs, clutching the old-fashioned way of doing things until your last nail broke.

But also like me, you avoided the WorldWideWeb (www) like the plague. You saw no need to have information at your fingertips.  You didn’t trust it.  It was a trap of the enemy, and encyclopedias, maps, and the Dewey Decimal System were good enough for you.

And e-mail!  What was that?  Why would people not want to talk by phone? You thought email was a fad for sure, destined to fade away like clogs and Jordache jeans.

But the day came when you had to give up your grip.  Your job allowed these infidels into your workspace, and you had to learn how to use them, and quick. You had to give in to the world of URLs and tabs and work with companies that had the nerve to do business solely online.

The world changed and you had to change too.  And somehow, you made it! What you previously feared, you embraced, and now you can’t imagine your world without getting your latest diagnosis from  Dr. Google.

Technology that drastically changed the landscape of information, communications, and education came to your town, and it didn’t kill you. Instead, it allowed you to cast a web around our whole wide world.

And like those advances, AI is going to impact your world, and there’s not much you can do about it. But it’s not all bad.  In fact, ChatGPT has some really cool features that can make daunting tasks as simple as typing a sentence in a box.  So, hold on tight, take a course, or watch a YouTube video or two. We made it through the rest, and we will also pass this test. We can be on-timers instead of old-timers.  We’ve already proved our tenacity.  So, let’s dive in and get with the program before they change the programming.

Forget the Joneses, keep up with AI.
